Ido Amit Interview

Ido Amit

Prof Ido Amit (weizmann.ac.il)

Professor Ido Amit earned his BSc and MSc from Bar-Ilan University. He completed a PhD under Prof. Yosef Yarden at the Department of Biological Regulation at the Weizmann Institute of Science. With Prof. Yarden, he studied the transcriptional and post-transcriptional constrains that define the outcome of growth factor receptor signalling. For four years, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the Broad Institute of Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, before joining the Weizmann Institute in 2011, where he holds the Alan and Laraine Fischer Career Development Chair. Using concepts from functional genomics, molecular biology, computer science, physics, and biotechnology, Prof. Amit’s lab studies how humans encode complex regulatory functions in their genomes and how they affect blood development and immune homeostasis in health and disease.

Prof Amit spoke to Immunopaedia about Regulatory Functions.
