reverse transcriptase

This is also known as RNA-dependent DNA polymerase, and is a DNA polymerase enzyme that transcribes single-stranded RNA into double-stranded DNA.
(Normal transcription involves the synthesis of RNA from DNA, hence reverse transcription is the reverse of this).
